President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has made several pledges regarding projects at Funadhoo constituency, during the campaign event on the island. The President is currently on a visit for Parliamentary hopeful for the constituency, Mohamed Shahid.
Speaking at one of the campaign events, President Solih said that new equipment will be added to the Funadhoo Atoll hospital and ICU in an effort to bring about modern changes.
He added that while water and sewerage systems have not been installed at the newly reclaimed land in Funadhoo, the government is looking to remedy this. The President said that while the roads have been constructed without room for water systems, the roads need to be reconstructed with amendments.
Additionally, he noted that while there have been some difficulties in the school at Funadhoo, additional classrooms will be added and the school will be transformed into a more contemporary institution.
President Solih declared that the installation of water systems at the island of Maaungoodhoo of the constituency has been opened for auction. He said that the active work on the water systems will begin within this year.
He added that while a multipurpose hall will be constructed at the school within this year, the issue of erosion at the island of Maaungoodhoo will also commence this year.
President Solih further said that the work on preventing further erosion at the island of Lhaimagu in the constituency as well as the construction of a futsal field will also commence very soon.
He said that while the installation of water and sewerage systems have not been included in the State budget this year, the government will be working on remedying the situation.
President Solih noted that the development of the nation takes place by doing what is needed for the people by leaders with integrity
