President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has said that his administration is not going steal small or a large amoung from the state.

The President made the statement in his address at a campaign event of parliament hopeful for Alifushi constituency, Mohamed Rasheed Hussain.

He said that no matter how long he has to stay in office, stealing is not something he would ever do.

The President addressed the criticism against him that states that no major projects are being done in his term. President Solih said that "it's true, I haven't done anything major. Big or small, I won't be stealing."

While President Solih has made the remark, in the term of the previous President, Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom was riddled corruption scandal of MVR 1.3 billion involving the Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC).

The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) released a report on the sandal revealing many famous businesses and political figures were involved in the corruption.
