Minister of External Affairs of India, Sushma Swaraj, has paid a courtesy call on the Maldivian President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih this morning at the President’s Office.

Both the President and Minister remarked that bilateral relations between the Maldives and India are on a positive trajectory, and pledged to continue working together on issues of mutual concern and benefit according to the President' Office.

The Indian Minister is currently on an official visit to the Maldives at the invitation of the Maldives’ Foreign Minister, His Excellency Abdulla Shahid. She is accompanied by a delegation comprised of high ranking Indian government officials.

Minister Swaraj and her delegation also met with individual Maldivian cabinet ministers, to further discuss how the Indian government could be of assistance to the Maldives in different areas.
