AbuBakuru Faisal, 32, who has been the prime suspect in his wife Nishama Mohamed, 28,'s death has died while undergoing medical treatment following a suicide attempt.

Faisal attempted to take his own life while in remand at Kulhudhuffushi Police Station on 12 December. He was taken to Kulhudhuffushi Regional Hospital and admitted to the ICU.

Police informed the media on Monday that Kulhudhuffushi Hospital has confirmed Faisal died at 0828hrs on Monday morning, but did not provide any further details.

Faisal was arrested on 11 December after he walked into the Kulhudhuffushi City Police Station of his own accord. He was remanded for 15 days under a court order.
