President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has said that the work to change Lh. Naifaru Hospital into a tertiary hospital will begin very soon.

The President said this while speaking at a campaign event of Parliamentary hopeful for Naifaru constituency on an MDP ticket, Mohamed Kaarim.

He  noted in his speech that he had made certain pledges before the citizens of Naifaru for the Presidential elections. As such, he highlighted that it was pledged that the hospital will be further developed and provision of services expanded, during Presidential elections. He noted as such, that the work on changing Naifaru Hospital to a tertiary hospital will begin very soon.

President Solih said that the work on water and sewerage systems of the island will also begin soon. He noted however that the capacity required for that work is currently not fulfilled on the island and assured that the government will also work on ensuring this capacity. As such, he said that 30 tonnes of water will soon be changed to 60 tonnes of water within the systems.

He said that a generator capable of providing 1000 Kilowatts of electricity will also be set up on the island in an effort to improve the services of electricity.
