Five companies have been suspended for forging bidding documents and delaying government projects.
As per statistics published by Finance Ministry, five additional companies have been suspended for delaying projects contracted by the government as well as submitting forged documents.
Companies added to the list include:
- Energy Route Pvt Ltd - for submitting forged documents to Fisheries Ministry bid
- Ascon Builders - failing to complete HA. Ihavandhoo School Multipurpose Hall on time
- Super Food Pvt Ltd - for submitting forged documents to Fisheries Ministry bid
- Dino Construction - not signing agreement on finishing works of Economic Ministry building
- Faalan Cafe' Investment - for violating terms of agreement for catering to Ha. Ihavandhoo Police Station
Companies are suspended for a 1-year period if projects are delayed. Likewise, companies face a 5-month delay over forgery of documents.
As such, Water Park Maldives has been suspended for 5 years over delays on multiple projects.
According to public finance regulation, companies that violate terms of agreement or delay projects must be given an opportunity to defend themselves before action is taken against them after the review committee investigations are completed.
Suppliers and companies can be suspended if the latter submits forged documents or delays the projects that have been contracted to them. Companies that have been suspended cannot bid on government projects until their suspension period is over, Finance Ministry said.
