President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has sent a message of sympathy to the Prime Minister of New Zealand, Jacinda Ardern, following the terrorist attack in two mosques in Christchurch, New Zealand.
The President’s message said that he was deeply shocked and saddened to learn of the cowardly terrorist attacks in two mosques in Christchurch today, resulting in the loss of innocent lives and serious injuries to many.
President Solih strongly condemned such acts of terror and violence against innocent people and said that he believe that they serve no purpose other than instilling fear and misery. The President also said that the Maldives is fully committed to continue working with our international partners in the fight against this global menace.
"At this time of grief, the Government and the people of the Maldives join me in sending our sympathies to Your Excellency, the Government and the people of New Zealand." President Solih's message said.
