Judge Hussain Shaheed has been appointed as Chief Judge of High Court following the retirement of former Chief Judge, Hathif Hilmy.

Judiciary Service Commission (JSC) issued a press release on Thursday, announcing the new appointment. According the the press release, Hussain Shaheed will take over the responsibilities as Chief Judge of High Court starting tomorrow.

Former Chief Judge Hathif Hilmy retired after two years in office. Judge Hathif was also Chief Judge at Civil Court from 2009, and Assistant Legal Officer at Criminal Court prior to that.
