The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has said that there are no charges of corruption against Minister of Youth, Sports and Community Empowerment, Ahmed Mahloof.
It has been reported that a letter sent to Mahloof by the ACC stated that there is no case of corruption being investigated against him.
An ACC report on Corruption at MMPRC revealed that Mahloof had received USD 33،000 from SOF Pvt Ltd. The company, SOF Pvt Ltd. had been involved in laundering funds from MMPRC.
The ACC letter sent to Mahloof declared that the Commission is not investigating any case of corruption or the transfer of these funds against Mahloof.
Mahloof or the ACC have not been available for a comment on the matter.
While there is currently MVR 1.3 billion owed to the State, the ACC had conducted an investigation on the funds. A report, revealing the names and companies and individuals that received funds from SOF Pvt Ltd was made public.
The report had also named Minister of Youth, Sports and Community Empowerment, Ahmed Mahloof. President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih had then temporarily relieve Mahloof from his position for the remainder of the investigation.
