President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has said that he will ensure that nothing bad happens to the coalition parties that collaborated on the Presidential elections.

The President said this while speaking at campaign event of Parliamentary hopeful for Keyodhoo constituency, Hussain Qasim at Vaavu Keyodhoo.

He noted in his speech at the event that he  recognizes that he did not assume this Presidency with the sole  support of Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP). The President noted the efforts of Adhaalath Party, Jumhooree Party as well as the input of former President Maumoon Abdul Gayoom and several others in the Presidential elections. He said that he will always carry these contributions in his mind and added that he will never let anything bad befall any of the coalition members.

President Solih said that he assumed this Presidency to fulfill the pledges that would benefit all of Maldives. He reiterated that while fulfilling these pledges are absolutely necessary, the cooperation of the Parliament and all institutions is integral in these efforts.

He said that he could only take on the effort to bring the pledges into fruition by working along with the Parliament.
