Maldives and Kyrgyz Republic have signed an Agreement on Mutual Exemption of Visa Requirements on Friday.

Minister of Foreign Affairs, Abdulla Shahid signed the agreement on behalf of Maldives, while Minister of Foreign Affairs, Kulubaev Zheenbek Moldokanovich signed on behalf of Kyrgyz Republic. The agreement was signed on the sidelines of the 77th Session of the United Nations General Assembly.

As per the agreement, both national will be exempted for a single or multiple entry or exit visas for a period of 30 days, including transition in the countries.

During discussions, Minister Shahid thanked the Kyrgyz government for their commitment to strengthening the existing bilateral relations between the two nations. He mentioned that signing the agreement will facilitate business and investment opportunities between Maldives and Kyrgyzstan, and develop better people to people contact.
