A man has been arrested in AA. Thoddoo for child abuse and attacking police officers.

Maldives Police Service (MPS) said on Thursday that they received reports of a domestic violence case around 0200hrs in the morning. The man in question had been asked to leave the premises of the house following a court order, but refused and physically abused a child.

The man then threatened and attacked the officers who went to the scene.

The 37-year-old man has been arrested following the incident. A police officer suffered various injuries during the confrontation.

MPS is currently investigating the issue.
