All-female crew on President Solih’s Women’s Day flight

President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih, has flown from on board a Maldivian flight run by an all-female crew on this International Women’s Day.

In a tweet sent out by, President Solih said that women move the world and is very proud to fly with an all-female crew on the national airline, Maldivian.

The President flew from Velana International to Gan International Airport in the south of the country to launch, MDP’s Agenda 19 campaign in Addu City.

While the President’s flight has an all-female crew, the ground staff at Gan International also included a female employee.

President Solih is accompanied by the former President, Mohamed Nasheed on the visit and received a warm welcome in Addu.

The launching of Agenda 19 is in Addu City is set to take place tonight, a number of activities are planned as part of the launching including a special run tomorrow morning.

The President is set to return to the capital tomorrow evening.
