Health Protection Agency (HPA) has revealed that they are now administering the Covid-19 vaccine for those above 18 years of age, for a second booster shot.

HPA noted that starting Thursday, any individual above the age of 18 could get the second booster dose after having completed four months since the first booster shot.

Pfizer is currently being administered as the booster shot.

HPA noted that the vaccine is being administered on an appointment basis in Male', and that Health Centers and Hospitals will detail vaccination schedules for the Atolls.

They further added that the second dose for children above 12 years of age is also now available.

Dharumavantha Hospital, Dhamanaveshi, and Hulhumale' Hospital are the designated vaccination centers in the Greater Male' Region.

The vaccination center in Dharumavantha Hospital will operate every Sunday, Tuesday and Wednesday from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM. Dhamanvevshi will administer the vaccine on all government working days from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM while Hulhumale' Hospital will on Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday from 1:00 PM till 3:00 PM.

So far 1,206 people have gotten the fourth booster jab in the Maldives.
