Ministry of Environment, Climate Change, and Technology has signed a 'Single-us Plastic Phase Out 2020-2030' agreement with Common Seas.

The agreement was signed on behalf of the Ministry by Minister Aminath Shauna. Founder and CEO of Common Seas, Jo Royle, signed on behalf of Common Seas.

Minister Shauna said that under the agreement, the Ministry will be enforcing the phase out of single-use plastic with the help of Common Seas. She added that the agreement was signed on 27 June at the 'United Nations Ocean Conference 2022' held in Lisbon, Portugal.

Common Seas is an international organisation that works to find solutions for plastic pollution globally. The organisation works closely with multiple governments and businesses to create awareness and reduce the amount of plastic production.
