One person has died following the bus-car collision accident on Monday evening near Ekuveni, IGMH confirms.

Speaking to 'One', IGMH Media Official confirmed that a woman has died while receiving treatment for her injuries after the accident. The hospital is currently treating 3 more injured in their ER.

Maldives Police Services (MPS) said that the accident took place around 18:09 on Monday, injuring four people.

Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) had rescued the people trapped in the car with the help of Fire and Rescue Service officers.

A person at the scene told 'One' that the accident occurred when the car had tried to overtake the bus but collided with another car and lost control before colliding with the bus.
