'Maldivian Flying Academy has received authorisation from Civil Aviation Authority (CAA), and will begin flying soon.

Island Aviation said on Sunday that 'Maldivian Flying Academy' received CAA authorisation on Sunday, and that they can commence pilot training for students in July. As such, the first batch of students include 10 students and 35 students who have completed the refresher programme.

The second batch of 39 students have commenced their refresher programme, Island Aviation added.

Island Aviation further added that they hope the first and second batch will be able to complete their training by the end of this year and that the third batch will commence refresher programme before the year ends as well.

Island Aviation also noted that the 'Maldivian Flying Academy' will operate as per CAA and European Aviation Safety Agency standards.
