Government of Maldives is seeking contractors to build waste management centres in 15 islands.
Finance Ministry stated on Sunday that the Government is working on building waste management centres in 15 islands under the Environmental Improvement and Waste Management Project being run with aid from Asian Development Bank (ADB).
Finance Ministry stated that contractors applying for this must be registered under Planning Ministry's Contractor's Registry. Foreign contractors will have to fulfil the 'foreign direct investment policy' clauses, the ministry added.
The ministry further added that selection of contractor will be carried out under the 'National Competitive Bidding' (NCB) policy. Application is open until 25 July.
Waste management centres are to be built in the following islands;

- K. Maafushi
- K. Guraidhoo
- K. Kaashidhoo

- V. Fulidhoo
- V. Keyodhoo

- AA. Himandhoo
