Raajje Transport Link (RTL) began ferry services in HA. Atoll on Sunday.

Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) sent five speed launch ferries to HA. Atoll on Friday to commence the RTL services in the atoll.

Speaking on RTL services, MTCC's Marine Transport Division's General Manager, Ismail Firag, stated that the RTL services will be provided free of charge until next month. He added that MTCC's target was to start RTL ferries in Shaviyani Atoll by next month.

MTCC revealed that Gulf Craft is working on building RTL ferries for the remaining 5 zones and that ferry services will start soon in the remaining 17 atolls as well.

The RTL project by the government is valued at MVR 800 million, and the government aims to provide high-speed ferry services within all the atolls at affordable prices by next year.
