A partially decomposed corpse of a tourist has been found in a guesthouse in Kaafu Atoll Guradhoo.

The 56-year-old English woman's body was discovered on Friday evening from Ocean Retreat and Spa guesthouse.

Speaking to 'One', Guraidhoo Council President, Hussain Yameen, said that the body was found around 1830hrs on Friday. He added that the body was partially decomposed.

He added that the guest had been feeling unwell and sought medical attention from the health centre and had placed a 'do not disturb' tag on the room door, requesting guesthouse staff not to disturb her. The woman is believed to have died a day prior to discovery, Yameen said.

The body was transported to Male' on Saturday afternoon, Yameen said.
