Sri Lankan military opened fire at rioters at a fuel station on Saturday night, government officials said.
Army spokesman, Nilantha Premaratne, said on Sunday the military opened fire to contain the riot at Visuvamadu after the military guard point was pelted with stones.
Four civilians and three soldiers were injured in the incident after military opened fire as per police reports.
Sri Lanka's economic crisis continues to worsen as the country struggles to source fuel, food and medicine.
