Defence Minister, Mariya Ahmed Didi, has endorsed President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih for 2023 presidential elections.

Minister Mariya tweeted her support for President Solih on Tuesday, saying that he is a great team leader who is patient and willing to listen with an open mind.

"I fully endorse him and support his candidacy in his presidential bid for 2023", the tweet read.

She said President Solih was decisive when needed.

President Solih last week said that it is crucial for MDP to win the 2023 elections while speaking to the press.

He added that he was the "choice" MDP should make for 2023, and that he is confident he can win the elections alongside the coalition.
