Maldives Reform Movement (MRM) has voiced concerns over Election Commission (EC)'s delay in processing the Party's forms.

MRM issued a statement on Thursday stating that the Party's efforts have resulted in over 3000 applications. However, most forms are still being processed by EC, the statement read.

The statement said that MRM has submitted 1,407 forms to EC of which 1,297 forms are still being processed.

MRM further said that since EC's announcement that political parties should have a membership of at least 3000 people in March, MRM has submitted over 700 forms to EC. As such, MRM said the Party believes its membership exceeds 3000.

MRM appealed to EC in their statement to speed up the processing of party applications.

EC issued a statement on Thursday stating that political parties that do not have a membership of 3000 will be dissolved after 14 June.

Speaking to 'One', MRM's Official Abdul Aleem said that EC has provided the party time until 14 June to get the party membership to 3000, and that MRM will submit forms for application before the set date.
