President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has honoured the long-serving employees of President's Office (PO) on Thursday.

Speaking at the ceremony, President Solih stated that the long-serving employees at PO have been instrumental in realising the policies of the successive administrations. He added that the staff at PO are crucial in the implementation of the administration's policies, emphasising that the PO is the highest executive branch.

A total of 126 current and former employees who have served in the PO for more than two decades were given plaques of appreciation at the ceremony.

President Solih also noted the near-equal gender representation at PO, adding that it corresponds to the administration's aim at promoting gender equality. He urged the younger employees at PO to follow in the footsteps of the more seasoned staff during his speech at the ceremony.

At the event, President Solih presented 49 plaques to long-serving employees who have served in PO for over 40, 35, and 30 years. The President also presented 33 plaques to employees who have served for more than 25 years. Vice President Faisal Naseem presented 44 plaques to employees who have served at PO for over 20 years.
