The Maldives has secured a seat on World Health Organisation (WHO)'s Executive Board.

Maldives was elected as a member from the Southeast Asian region for a three-year term at the 151st Executive Board meeting ongoing in Geneva, Switzerland.

Health Minister, Ahmed Naseem, is partaking in the meeting comprising of WHO executive committee members and non-members.

The meeting included discussions on decisions made during the 75th World Health Assembly earlier in the week, as well as emergency protocols for pandemics such as Covid-19. The meeting also included discussions on the budget and administrative committee decisions.
