India's Exim Bank has begun the pre-qualification of Project Management Consultants [PMC] for Redevelopment of Gan International Airport in the Republic of Maldives.

Under the redevelopment project, Gan International Airport's passenger terminal will be designed to cater to 1.5 million passengers a year.

The project also includes construction of a new control tower and fire station at the airport.

Gan International Airport redevelopment also includes developing cold storage for the airport as well as development of the roads with a parking lot.

The project will be carried out under a loan grant from India's Exam Bank.
