MTCC to bring two new dredgers this year

Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has revealed that they will be bringing two dredgers within the year to expedite land reclamation works.

Speaking to the press during the Annual General Meeting (AGM) of MTCC held at Kurumba Maldives last night, CEO Adam Azim stated that the company is gearing up to accommodate mega projects and highlighted that within the next three to five years, the company would be at a place where they can also work on mega projects such as the construction of bridges.

Stating that the goal of MTCC is to add MVR 50 million to their annual profits each year, Azim said that they are working towards a profit of MVR 300 million this year and MVR 350 million next year.

He further stressed that while MTCC's profits have been increasing, they have been improving their facilities as well. As such he highlighted that there are 3,600 employees working in the company and that their entire fleet has also been renewed.

Azim further noted that while the company used to be able to work on 20 projects at a time, they are now able to work on 100 projects.
