Information Commission has launched an online portal today.

The portal was inaugurated by Information Commissioner, Ahmed Aahid Rasheed during a ceremony held at the Information Commission this morning.

The 'Mahoali' portal has been developed to allow for requests to be submitted to them online and to streamline the provision of information from state institutions.

Prior to this, requests for information had to be submitted by filling a form.

Speaking during the ceremony to launch the portal, the commissioner revealed that they have received quite a number of requests, adding that their mission is to provide information to journalists and the general public with ease.

The Information Commission was created in 2014 under the Right to Information Act.
