Island Aviation Services Ltd (IASL) has made an announcement to seek contractors to renovate Thimarafushi Airport.
The announcement stated that contractors can express interest for the project until 11am on 8th May via email.
IASL is looking for contractors to renovate the airport's passenger terminal's office area, accommodation office, fire and rescue building, powerhouse, boarding gate check-in area, and security fence as well as security gate.
Interested parties will be invited to an information session with IASL. Additionally, contractors who do not attend the information session will not be allowed to submit bids for the project, IASL said.
Thimarafushi Airport was opened in 2013 during former president Dr. Mohamed Waheed Hassan Manik's tenure. The project was valued at MVR 32 million, and the airport consists of a 1,200m runway.
Thimarafushi airport is the only airport in Thaa Atoll at present.
