President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih is set to visit the island of Kaafu Atoll Maafushi on the day of Fitr Eid this coming week, accepting an invitation extended by the island council.

According to the calendar, Fitr Eid for this year will fall on May 2nd.

Spokesperson at the President's Office, Mabrook Azeez revealed to 'One Online' that the President is confirmed to visit Maafushi Island on Fitr Eid day on an official visit. He further added the council had extended an invitation to the President to visit the island for a luncheon on Eid Day, which the President has accepted.

A statement by the Maafushi Island Council previously noted that the island will host a fireworks display during the music show on the night of Eid-Al-Fitr. They also added that this activity is being conducted in collaboration and assistance of Kaani Hotels and Arena Hotels, one of the two biggest hotel operators on the island.

In addition to this, special activities will be held for residents of the island on the evening of eid by a local organisation while Yaara Team, Safoora And Friends, Habeys Boduberu will all take part in the music show.

The music show is set to be held at the land where Islaahiyya was previously run, which has been cleaned with the assistance of MTCC.
