At least 167 people have been reported dead following landslides and floods after Tropical Storm Megi tore through Philippines on Sunday.

Philippine's National Disaster Agency stated that the military and aid workers continue effort to search for an additional 110 people reported missing.

Rescue efforts have been slow due to rain, making it difficult to transport the injured and survivors in chest-high water on stretchers and rafts.

Tropical Storm Megi is the first such storm this year, just four months since Super Typhoon Rai caused devastation in the south-east islands of Philippines - killing at least 375 people and displacing hundreds of thousands.
