Financial statement submitted by the former President, Mohamed Nasheed, has shown that over MVR 5.4 million along with two properties in Laamu atoll Gan and Kaafu atoll Thulusdhoo are in the estate of the former President, Mohamed Nasheed.

MDP has published financial statements from 80 of the 86 candidates representing MDP in the upcoming Parliament Election.

The financial statement from the former President Nasheed, running for Mid-Mahchangolhi constituency in the coming election, show that he has MVR 5,040,242.24 in his account at the State Bank of India, which has been declared as a joint account. In his account at the Bank of Maldives, the former President declared to have MVR 295.85 and MVR 19,900.18 in his account at the Maldives Islamic Bank.

Nasheed also declared an account at Lloyds Bank PLC in London which has GBP 20,144.91. The total of the accounts adds up to MVR 5,464,383.40 in his estate.

The financial statement also shows a 4,700 square-foot property in Laamu Gan and a 2,000 square-foot property in Kaafu Thulusdhoo. The property in Thulusdhoo is registered under the Ex-President Nasheed, Ahmed Nazim, Aminath Nashida and Ibrahim Nashid.
