Qasim: Selfish leader is the one who wants to bring the parliamentary system

Leader of the Jumhoory Party (JP) and Speaker of the Parliament, Qasim Ibrahim, has said that a selfish leader would attempt to bring about a parliamentary system of governance.

While Qasim has made the statement last night speaking at the opening ceremony of the campaign hall of Iruthisham Adam, running on the JP ticket for the, South Henveiru constituency in the upcoming parliament election, the former President, Mohamed Nasheed, has previously said that he supports the parliamentary system.

The JP Leader said that there had been talks of taking a poll to find the most selfish leader and in a parliamentary system of ruling, all the powers including those of the President and the ministers would be in the pocket.
