Another 1,916 people have recovered from COVID-19 in the past 24 hours.

Health Protection Agency (HPA) said that from 6 p.m. yesterday to 6 p.m. today, 1,916 people recovered from COVID-19 raising the total number of recoveries in the country to 161,537 with another 12,520 people still in treatment including 4 people in hospitals.

In the same time frame, 14 people tested positive in the Male' area along with 171 from the atolls, 14 from the resorts.

There have been 297 COVID-related deaths in the Maldives that includes 278 locals, 19 foreign nationals. Maldives reported its first COVID-19 related death on 29 April 2020 following the death of an 83-year-old woman.
