The total number of COVID-19 cases in the country has risen to 174,367 after another 204 people have tested positive.

Health Protection Agency (HPA) said that from 6 p.m. yesterday to 6 p.m. today, 14 people tested positive in the Male' area along with 171 from the atolls, 14 from the resorts.

In the same time frame, 1,916 people recovered from COVID-19 raising the total number of recoveries in the country to 161,537 with another 12,520 people still in treatment including 4 people in hospitals.

There have been 297 COVID-related deaths in the Maldives that includes 278 locals, 19 foreign nationals. Maldives reported its first COVID-19 related death on 29 April 2020 following the death of an 83-year-old woman.
