The total number of COVID-19 cases in the country has risen to 173,666 after another 329 people have tested positive.

Health Protection Agency (HPA) said that from 6 p.m. yesterday to 6 p.m. today, 26 people tested positive in the Male' area along with 281 from the atolls, 14 from the resorts.

In the same time frame, 436 people recovered from COVID-19 raising the total number of recoveries in the country to 159,080 with another 14,276 people still in treatment including 6 people in hospitals.

There have been 297 COVID-related deaths in the Maldives that includes 278 locals, 19 foreign nationals. Maldives reported its first COVID-19 related death on 29 April 2020 following the death of an 83-year-old woman.
