The total number of COVID-19 cases in the country has risen to 170,192 after another 560 people have tested positive.
Health Protection Agency (HPA) said that from 6 p.m. yesterday to 6 p.m. today, 48 people tested positive in the Male' area along with 471 from the atolls, 26 from the resorts.
In the same time frame, 618 people recovered from COVID-19 raising the total number of recoveries in the country to 154,864 with another 15,018 people still in treatment including 14 people in hospitals.
There have been 297 COVID-related deaths in the Maldives that includes 278 locals, 19 foreign nationals. Maldives reported its first COVID-19 related death on 29 April 2020 following the death of an 83-year-old woman.
