The inclusion of MP Rasheed in those committees were announced at the top of the Parliament sitting this morning by the Speaker of the Parliament, former President of Maldives and current President of MDP, Mohamed Nasheed.

Announcing the changes to the committee structure of the Parliament, Speaker Nasheed said that the MP Fuvahmulah constituency, MDP's Mohamed Mumthaz has been appointed to the Finance Committee.

Speaker Nasheed said that it is not he that appoint MPs to the committees and the he's announcing the decisions made by the political parties.
