Another 866 people have recovered from COVID-19 in the past 24 hours.

Health Protection Agency (HPA) said that from 6 p.m. yesterday to 6 p.m. today, 866 people recovered from COVID-19 raising the total number of recoveries in the country to 149,734 with another 15,035 people still in treatment including 24 people in hospitals.

In the same time frame, 104 people tested positive in the Male' area along with 670 from the atolls, 37 from the resorts.

There have been 291 COVID-related deaths in the Maldives that includes 272 locals, 19 foreign nationals. Maldives reported its first COVID-19 related death on 29 April 2020 following the death of an 83-year-old woman.
