The total number of COVID-19 cases in the country has risen to 163,581 after another 607 people have tested positive today.

Health Protection Agency (HPA) has been announcing statistics of the daily positive cases from the Male', resorts and the atolls. However, that information was not released today.

But the HPA has said that there are 15,368 people currently being treated for COVID-19 and 28 of them are being treated at hospitals.

In the past 24 hours 743 people have recovered from the illness raising the total recoveries in the country to 147,910.

There has been 290 COVID-related deaths in the Maldives that includes 27¹ locals, 19 foreign nationals. Maldives reported its first COVID-19 related death on 29 April 2020 following the death of an 83-year-old woman.
