Another 1,280 people have recovered from COVID-19 in the past 24 hours.

Health Protection Agency (HPA) said that from 6 p.m. yesterday to 6 p.m. today, 1,280 people recovered from COVID-19 raising the total number of recoveries in the country to 142,849 with another 15,910 people still in treatment including 31 people in hospitals.

In the same time frame, 187 people tested positive in the Male' area along with 716 from the atolls, 67 from the resorts.

There have been 289 COVID-related deaths in the Maldives that includes 270 locals, 19 foreign nationals. Maldives reported its first COVID-19 related death on 29 April 2020 following the death of an 83-year-old woman.
