Ministry of Tourism has decided to introduce a number of annual awards related to the tourism industry.
The ministry said that they are going to introduce four awards for those facilitating the employees in the tourism industry, three awards to those that help develop local artists, an award for those that facilitate employment for locals, an award to support employee development, an award for facilitating employment for women and an award to encourage local products.
Ministry of Tourism said that these awards will be given after an evaluation when companies nominated themselves for the awards.
These awards are being introduced as part of the Golden Jubilee of Maldives Tourism.
Applications for the awards will be opening in June, according to the Ministry, and will be be open for tourist resorts, hotels, guesthouses and vessels.
