Island Aviation Service (IAS) has said that they are starting scheduled to flights to the Lhaviyani Atoll Madivaru Airport developed by Kuredhoo Holdings, on 18 February 2022.
Deputy Managing Director of IAS, that runs the national airline, Maldivian Aero, Jenifer Latheef told ONE Online that they are preparing to start commercial flights to Madivaru Airport on 18 February.
She said that the ticket prices have been finalized and would be announced very soon.
Test flights were conducted at the Madivaru Airport in December 2021 and the airport operations was given to IAS on 17 January 2022.
A subsidiary of Crown and Champa, Kuredhoo Holdings, was contracted to develop the airport on 29 May 2018 for USD 11 million. The project work was done by Beijing Urban Construction Group (BUCG) who is also a number of developments at Velana International Airport.
