Another 2,223 people have recovered from COVID-19 in the past 24 hours raising the total number of recoveries to 132,872.

Health Protection Agency (HPA) said that from 6 p.m. yesterday to 6 p.m. today, 2,223 people recovered from COVID-19 raising the total number of recoveries in the country to 132,872 with another 17,169 people still in treatment including 52 people in hospitals.

In the same time frame, 628 people tested positive in the Male' area along with 815 from the atolls and 133 from the resorts.

There have been 283 COVID-related deaths in the Maldives that includes 265 locals, 18 foreign nationals. Maldives reported its first COVID-19 related death on 29 April 2020 following the death of an 83-year-old woman.
