The total number of COVID-19 cases in the country has risen to 150,337 after another 1,757 people have tested positive in the past 24 hours.
Health Protection Agency (HPA) said that from 6 p.m. yesterday to 6 p.m. today, 628 people tested positive in the Male' area along with 815 from the atolls and 133 from the resorts.
In the same time frame, 2,223 people recovered from COVID-19 raising the total number of recoveries in the country to 132,872 with another 17,163 people still in treatment including 52 people in hospitals.
There have been 283 COVID-related deaths in the Maldives that includes 265 locals, 18 foreign nationals. Maldives reported its first COVID-19 related death on 29 April 2020 following the death of an 83-year-old woman.
