Parliamentary group leader of Jumhooree Party (JP) and the MP for Kinbidhoo constituency Abdulla Riyaz has said that vote of no confidence against Minister of Defence, Uz. Mariya Ahmed Didi will be failed even if it were to be proposed.

MP Royaz had taken to twitter to make this statement. He has said this amidst claims by interim President of People’s National Congress (PNC) and MP of Fonadhoo constituency Abdul Raheem Abdulla that a vote of no confidence against Minister of Defence, Uz. Mariya Ahmed Didi will be proposed at Parliament.

MP Abdul Raheem had said this at a joint press conference with Progressive Party of Maldives (PPM) today.

MP Riyaz had said in his tweet that he does not believe that Minister of Defense Mariya Ahmed Didi has carried out any act that violates the confidence of the people.

MP Abdul Raheem had noted in the press cobference that preparations have been made to hold the current administration accountable. As such, he said that one of the first acts would be to propose a  vote of no confidence at Parliament against the Minister of Defense Uz. Mariya Ahmed Didi.

MP Abdul Raheem claims that the Minister of Defense had threatened to hand over the sovereignty of the nation to foreign powers.

MP Abdul Raheem has said that in addition to the Minister of Defense Uz. Mariya Ahmed Didi, they will also be looking into the work of Minister of Foreign Affairs, Abdulla Shahid.
