Another 2,163 people have recovered from COVID-19 in the past 24 hours raising the total number of recoveries to 125,190.

Health Protection Agency (HPA) said that from 6 p.m. yesterday to 6 p.m. today, 2,163 people recovered from COVID-19 raising the total number of recoveries in the country to 125,190 with another 17,721 people still in treatment including 62 people in hospitals.

In the same time frame, 771 people tested positive in the Male' area along with 1,053from the atolls and 48 from the resorts.

There have been 278 COVID-related deaths in the Maldives that includes 259 locals, 19 foreign nationals. Maldives reported its first COVID-19 related death on 29 April 2020 following the death of an 83-year-old woman.
