Interim leader of PNC and MP for Fonadhoo constituency Abdul Raheem Abdulla has said thata vote of no confidence will be proposed at Parliament against the Minister of Defense Ustaz. Mariya Ahmed Didi.

The interim leader of the People’s National Congress (PNC) said this at a joint press conference with Progressive Party of Maldives (PPM) today. MP Abdul Raheem noted that preparations have been made to hold the current administration accountable. As such, he said that one of the first acts would be to propose a  vote of no confidence at Parliament against the Minister of Defense Uz. Mariya Ahmed Didi.

MP Abdul Raheem said that we cannot let comments implying that the sovereignty of this country are to be handed over to foreign powers, simply slide by.

He added that the vote of no confidence will be most likely proposed at Parliament within the coming week.

MP Abdul Raheem has said that in addition to the Minister of Defense Uz. Mariya Ahmed Didi, they will also be looking into the work of Minister of Foreign Affairs Abdulla Shahid.

He said that various members of the Cabinet will be analyzed on a member by member basis, based on what each Minister has said. MP Abdul Raheem also offered assurances that steps will be taken to ensure that these cabinet members are brought to a straight path.
