Another 2,572 people have recovered from COVID-19 in the past 24 hours raising the total number of recoveries to 120,821.

Health Protection Agency (HPA) said that from 6 p.m. yesterday to 6 p.m. today, 2,572 people recovered from COVID-19 raising the total number of recoveries in the country to 120,821 with another 17,770 people still in treatment including 63 people in hospitals.

In the same time frame, 1,407 people tested positive in the Male' area along with 962 from the atolls and 48 from the resorts.

There have been 276 COVID-related deaths in the Maldives that includes 258 locals, 18 foreign nationals. Maldives reported its first COVID-19 related death on 29 April 2020 following the death of an 83-year-old woman.
