Another 2,734 people have recovered from COVID-19 in the past 24 hours raising the total number of recoveries to 115,269.

Health Protection Agency (HPA) said that from 6 p.m. yesterday to 6 p.m. today, 2,734 people recovered from COVID-19 raising the total number of recoveries in the country to 115,269 with another 17,732 people still in treatment including 53 people in hospitals.

In the same time frame, 1,296 people tested positive in the Male' area along with 994 from the atolls and 20 from the resorts.

There have been 274 COVID-related deaths in the Maldives that includes 256 locals, 18 foreign nationals. Maldives reported its first COVID-19 related death on 29 April 2020 following the death of an 83-year-old woman.
